Junior Journal

The Junior Journal is an important step in any Kiwi kid’s life. It reinforces that they’ve become a "big kid" at school. Students progress from Ready to Read books to their very first Journal. The importance of this wee beauty means levelling the design is crucial.

We were involved in writing the design guidelines for this series. Every design decision is deliberate and supports our students, e.g. line lengths, picture text match, appropriate font choice etc.

Skills include: knowledge of design progressions and levelling; working with editors, subject matter experts, photographers, illustrators, cultural consultants, and pedagogy experts; quality assurance; prepress.
